Erling Haaland Leads the Charge as Norway Advances to the Next Round Despite Amad's Heroic Efforts

Erling Haaland scored a late winner as Norway secured a 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast, advancing to the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup. The Manchester City striker netted the decisive goal with four minutes remaining, setting up a showdown with Brazil.

Norway took the lead shortly before halftime, courtesy of Antonio Nusa's impressive strike. Martin Odegaard found Nusa on the left of the box, and the wide man bent an unstoppable shot into the far side-netting.

Ivory Coast equalized in the second half through Amad Diallo, who combined with Nicolas Pepe to fire home from close range. However, Norway regained the lead as Patrick Berg squared the ball to Haaland, who scored the winner despite the ball appearing to bounce off him.

In the dying moments, Amad almost sent the game to extra time with a sublime free-kick, but Orjan Nyland palmed the effort away. Norway's victory marks a significant milestone, as they advance to the next round of the tournament in North America.
