Munoz scores crucial goal as Colombia secures narrow victory over DR Congo to advance to round of 32

Colombia has secured a spot in the FIFA World Cup round of 32 after defeating DR Congo 1-0 in Group K at the Estadio Guadalajara. The match marked the first-ever meeting between the two nations, with Colombia dominating from the start.

DR Congo's Edo Kayembe nearly gave his team the lead with a long-range effort, while Colombia's Daniel Munoz missed a close-range opportunity. Munoz later found the net but was ruled out for offside.

Goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi made several crucial saves to deny Colombia's Luis Diaz, and the South American side produced five shots on target before the hydration break. Despite their dominance, Colombia couldn't find the breakthrough before the interval.

The second half saw Mpasi continue to impress, making a brilliant save to thwart Diaz. However, it was Munoz who provided the decisive moment, scoring in the 76th minute to net his second goal of the tournament.

Diaz had two goals ruled out for a foul and an offside, respectively. Colombia held on to secure the three points, moving to the top of Group K, two points clear of Portugal. They will face Portugal in their final group game, needing a win or draw to secure first place.
