Thomas Tuchel Raises Concerns Over Folarin Balogun Case, Finds Situation Strange for England

England manager Thomas Tuchel has jokingly suggested that the country could lobby US President Donald Trump to intervene in Jarell Quansah's one-match ban. This comes after Trump's reported involvement in the suspension of Folarin Balogun's ban, allowing him to play for the USMNT against Belgium. Quansah was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Mexico's Jesús Gallardo, and Tuchel believes the incident was worthy of a red card.

However, Tuchel's main concern is the precedent set by FIFA's decision to overturn Balogun's ban. The England boss argues that this opens the door for teams to dispute any decision they are unhappy with, potentially leading to inconsistent refereeing. Tuchel questioned the use of Article 27 in FIFA's disciplinary code, which allows the governing body to suspend disciplinary measures.

The England team is already dealing with injuries to right-backs Reece James and Tino Livramento, and Quansah's suspension has added to their woes. With James' return date uncertain, Ezri Konsa is likely to start in his place against Norway. Tuchel has expressed frustration over the lack of consistency in refereeing decisions, saying "where does this start and where does this end now?"
