Gonçalo Ramos completes move to AC Milan in club record deal after PSG paid €65m for him in 2024

AC Milan has confirmed the signing of Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain in a club-record transfer deal worth €74m plus add-ons. This fee surpasses the €49.5m Milan paid to Lille for Rafael Leão and equals the highest fee paid for a forward by a Serie A club since Inter Milan signed Romelu Lukaku for €74m from Manchester United in 2020.

Ramos, the Portugal international, expressed his gratitude to PSG on social media, acknowledging the club as his home and taking pride in having contributed to its history. During his time at PSG, he won three Ligue 1 titles and two Champions Leagues.

Since joining PSG from Benfica in 2024 for €65m, Ramos has scored 45 goals and provided 10 assists in 131 games across all competitions. However, he has struggled to fit into Luis Enrique's high-pressure pressing style, leading to a decline in his market value from €50m to €30m.

AC Milan, having missed out on Champions League football, has appointed former Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim, who is familiar with Ramos from Portuguese football. The signing is seen as a signal of the club's ambitious goals for the upcoming season, following the recent announcement of a new leadership structure.
