Kylian Mbappé 8th but miles ahead of Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo - Most goals scored after reaching 100 international caps

Kylian Mbappé has made history at the World Cup, with France favourites to be crowned champions this summer in North America. The 24-year-old entered the tournament after a difficult season with Real Madrid, but still managed to score 42 goals in 44 games.

In France's opener against Senegal, Mbappé scored twice, surpassing Olivier Giroud as his nation's all-time record goalscorer with 58 goals in 99 games. Giroud held the record for several years with 57 goals in 137 appearances. Mbappé then led his nation out against Iraq in Philadelphia for his 100th cap, opening the scoring with an excellent left-footed effort.

Mbappé has now scored an impressive 60 goals for France, with only three European players scoring more goals in their first 100 games - Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, and Aleksandar Mitrović. Ali Daei holds the outright record for most goals in the first 100 games with 76 goals for Iran, followed by Ali Mabkhout with 75 goals for the United Arab Emirates. Mbappé's numbers in his first 100 caps are significantly higher than those of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with 46 and 37 goals respectively.
