Serena Williams Set to Make Highly Anticipated Singles Return at Wimbledon After Receiving Wildcard Entry

Serena Williams has been awarded the final wildcard for the women's singles draw at Wimbledon, marking her return to singles tennis. The 23-time Grand Slam champion had initially returned to the court in June, playing doubles alongside Victoria Mboko at Queen's and Karolina Muchova in Berlin. Williams had also announced plans to partner with her sister Venus at Wimbledon, but her singles participation was uncertain after being omitted from the initial wildcard allocations. With one spot remaining, Williams has now been confirmed to take it. Her last singles match at Wimbledon was in 2022, where she lost to Harmony Tan in the first round. Williams, a seven-time Wimbledon singles champion, first competed at the All-England Club in 1998 and has also won six doubles titles with her sister Venus.
