Steve Clarke Steps Down as Scotland Coach Following World Cup Elimination

The Scottish Football Association has announced that Steve Clarke has resigned as Scotland's head coach, following the team's elimination from the World Cup. Clarke, 62, led Scotland to their first men's World Cup in 28 years and back-to-back European Championship qualifications during his seven-year tenure.

Scotland finished third in Group C, but failed to progress to the knockout rounds after facing Haiti, Morocco, and Brazil. Despite signing a new contract in May to remain in charge until the 2030 World Cup, Clarke has decided to step down.

In a statement, Clarke expressed his gratitude to his players, saying they deserve all the praise for the team's accomplishments since 2019. He also wished his successor good luck, bringing an end to his successful tenure as Scotland's head coach.
