World Cup Manager Suffers Brutal Firing After Just One Game in Stunning Move

Tunisia has parted ways with manager Sabri Lamouchi following a 5-1 defeat to Sweden at the 2026 World Cup. Despite being just seven places behind Sweden in FIFA's world rankings, Tunisia was convincingly beaten with goals from Yasin Ayari, Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyökeres, and Mattias Svanberg.

Lamouchi's departure was reportedly prompted by an emergency meeting held after the match, during which physical altercations broke out in the Tunisian camp. The decision to dismiss Lamouchi, who took charge in January and won just one of five games, was first revealed by journalist Romain Molina.

This is not the first time Tunisia has taken drastic action during a World Cup. In 1998, the team was eliminated after defeats to England and Colombia, leading to the immediate dismissal of manager Henryk Kasperczak. Other notable examples of mid-tournament managerial changes include Julen Lopetegui's firing by Spain in 2018, just two days before the tournament.

Tunisia currently sits bottom of Group F, behind Sweden, the Netherlands, and Japan, after the first round of matches. Reaching the knockout stages would be considered a significant achievement for the team.
