Balogun Stands at the Crossroads of US and Soccer Politics as World Cup Intensifies

Investigative reporter Kristina Cooke has received numerous accolades for her work, including the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting in 2025 for coverage of the fentanyl supply chain. She was also a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in 2023 for an investigation into migrant child labor in the United States. Originally from Germany, Cooke joined the news organization in London in 2005 and is now based in San Francisco.
