Cole Campbell Completes Permanent Transfer to German Side Elversberg
US Youth National Team attacker Cole Campbell has joined newly-promoted Bundesliga club Elversberg on a permanent deal, signing a four-year contract through June 2030. The move marks the end of his time with Borussia Dortmund, where he made seven appearances for the first team and played for several youth teams after joining in 2022 from Icelandic club Breidablik UBK.
Elversberg sporting director Christian Weber expressed his delight at securing Campbell's services, citing his "extraordinary pace and one-on-one skills" as key assets. Campbell spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Hoffenheim, making five appearances, and has featured for the USMNT U-19's, U-20's, and U-23's since switching his allegiance from Iceland in 2024.
The 20-year-old is hopeful that the move will help him get his career back on track, stating that he has a positive feeling about the team and believes he can contribute well. Elversberg earned promotion to the top-flight after finishing second in the 2. Bundesliga last season and will begin their new league campaign against Bayer Leverkusen on August 29.
