Former Real Madrid Boss Arbeloa Named New Fulham Manager in Surprising Move

Fulham has appointed former Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa as its new manager, the English Premier League side announced on Wednesday. The 43-year-old, a member of Spain's 2010 World Cup-winning squad, has signed a three-year contract. Arbeloa had a successful playing career at Real Madrid, winning the Champions League twice, but his stint as coach was less successful. He replaces Marco Silva, who left the club after guiding them to 11th place last season and is now in charge of Benfica. Arbeloa, who has Premier League experience from his time at Liverpool, expressed his honour at joining Fulham, the oldest club in London, and acknowledged the responsibility that comes with the role.
