Iran Fires on Bahrain and Jordan Following US Strikes, According to Officials

The US and Iran have continued to exchange strikes despite ongoing peace talks. President Donald Trump announced "major combat operations" against Iran on February 28, with joint US-Israeli strikes targeting military, government, and infrastructure sites.

Delegations from the US and Iran began negotiations in June, aiming for a war-ending deal based on a signed memorandum of understanding. However, the two countries have continued to engage in relatively limited strikes, with the Strait of Hormuz being a primary flashpoint.

Jordan's military intercepted four missiles fired from Iran into the country's airspace on Tuesday, according to state media. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have fired ballistic missiles at US targets in Jordan.

The Bahrain Defense Force confirmed that Iran launched fresh attacks on the Gulf kingdom on Tuesday. US Central Command released a statement saying it struck Iranian military targets, including Bushehr and Bandar Abbas, in a five-hour mission to degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping.

The Persian Gulf Strait Authority, a government body created by Iran during the ceasefire, stated that passage through the Strait of Hormuz is currently unfeasible due to "recent hostile actions" by US forces. The authority urged ships to visit their website for permit applications, which will be reviewed once stability is restored.
