The San Jose Earthquakes have signed 21-year-old center-forward Luka Jovanović from Adelaide United in a deal worth around $700,000. Jovanović has signed a U-22 Initiative Player contract through the 2027/28 Major League Soccer season with a club option for the 2028/29 season.
Earthquakes sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena expressed his pleasure with the signing, citing Jovanović's outstanding potential and work ethic. Jovanović won the Golden Boot in the Australian A-League Men last season with 11 goals in 23 regular season games.

Jovanović joins a roster that includes Preston Judd, who has scored 11 goals this season, and former German international Timo Werner, who has scored four goals and three assists in seven MLS games.
