Trump Unveils Declassified Intel He Claims Was Covered Up and Hidden From the Public

President Donald Trump addressed the nation on Thursday evening, discussing "free and fair" elections and announcing the declassification of critical intelligence. The intelligence reveals "shocking vulnerabilities" related to hacking, exploitation, and foreign interference in US elections.

According to Trump, this vital information has been covered up and hidden from the public for many years. The documents, which were posted on the White House website during the speech, were gathered by the White House Government Transparency Taskforce and the staff of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board.

The documents focus on alleged vulnerabilities in electronic voting and ballot-counting systems, China's acquisition and exploitation of American voter data, a Michigan voter-registration investigation, and noncitizens on state voter rolls. Trump claimed that China obtained information about American voters, including names, addresses, and phone numbers, to exploit the voter data.

Trump alleged that reports from the CIA and National Security Agency about China's interference were kept out of his presidential briefings, and Congress was not notified. He cited an email among intelligence analysts that admitted to withholding information regarding Chinese activities related to the election from the presidential daily briefing.

Trump called for an investigation into the matter, urging the director of national intelligence, the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the CIA to take action and potentially press criminal charges against those involved. The president's administration has been pushing policies and legislation to secure US elections, with a focus on election integrity.
