Bill Maher Reveals He Could Vote Republican in 2028, Tells JD Vance in Shocking Admission

Comedian Bill Maher has revealed that his vote in the 2028 presidential election is "in play" for both Republican and Democratic candidates. In a recent interview with Vice President JD Vance on his HBO show "Real Time," Maher expressed frustration that Democratic politicians, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Kamala Harris, have declined to appear on his show.

Maher, who has historically supported Democratic presidential candidates but often criticizes the party, told Vance that he could potentially support a Republican in 2028. However, he emphasized that his "deal breaker" for a Republican candidate would be their refusal to accept election loss without claiming fraud, as seen in President Donald Trump's 2020 election response.

The conversation also touched on immigration, with Maher arguing that Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been "too rough" in its enforcement operations. Vance pushed back, stating that deporting people is never an easy process. Despite their differences, the pair found common ground in criticizing the news media.

Maher's interview with Vance follows his 2025 dinner with Trump at the White House, which sparked criticism. The comedian has been known to criticize both Democrats and Republicans on his show, recently describing the Democratic Party as "very unpopular, and for very good reason." Maher is set to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on June 28.
