Switzerland Confirms Iran Talks Postponed After White House Says US Envoy Rob Malley and Hostage Negotiator Roger Carstens Will Replace Vance as He's Not Departing Tonight

Switzerland's Foreign Ministry has announced that scheduled talks between the US, Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan have been postponed. The negotiations, aimed at implementing a signed US-Iran memorandum of understanding to end the war, were set to take place at a Swiss resort complex on Friday.

The ministry stated that Switzerland remains ready to facilitate the talks, with preparatory work continuing at Bürgenstock. However, no additional information is currently available.

In a related development, Israel has struck Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon, targeting over 80 sites, including command centers and terrorist launch positions. The move came after four Israeli soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, including a battalion commander, when an Israeli military tank was hit by a suspicious target.

The Israeli Defense Forces said the strikes were in response to repeated ceasefire violations by the Hezbollah terrorist organization. Dozens of Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated during the strikes, according to the IDF.

US Vice President JD Vance has scrapped plans to travel to Switzerland for the talks, citing uncertainty over the timing and logistics of the negotiations with Tehran. The White House confirmed that the US delegation is prepared to depart at the first available opportunity, but the logistics of the negotiations have been complicated. The talks aim to finalize a deal between the US and Iran within 60 days, following a newly signed memorandum of understanding.
