Donald Trump to Attend Dignified Transfer of Fallen Service Members on Wednesday

President Donald Trump is set to attend a dignified transfer of US service members at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware on Wednesday. The ceremony honors those killed in the conflict with Iran.

The Pentagon has identified Army Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of New York, as the third person believed to have been killed in action during Friday's Iranian strike on a US base in Jordan. Two other American soldiers, Pfc. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas, and 1st Lt. Tyler Feehan, of Hawaii, also died in the attack.

Additionally, Army Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of North Carolina, died on Sunday following the controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone at Erbil Air Base in Iraq. The US Department of Defense reports that at least 18 soldiers have been killed and around 500 wounded since the conflict began in late February.

Fighting has escalated after a mid-June ceasefire between the US and Iran broke down, with 11 consecutive nights of strikes. This is a developing story, with further updates to follow.
