Jesse Bisiwu: The 18-year-old Club Brugge Wonderkid on the Verge of a Sensational Move to Barcelona

Barcelona's renowned La Masia academy has a long history of producing top talent, with notable alumni including Xavi, Lionel Messi, and Andrés Iniesta. The club is also known for scouting and nurturing young talent from around the world. The latest addition to La Masia is 18-year-old Jesse Bisiwu, who has agreed to join Barcelona from Belgian outfit Club Brugge for a reported €8.5 million fee.

Bisiwu, a Belgian winger of Ghanaian descent, has yet to make his first-team debut for Club Brugge but has impressed at youth level. He was a regular in Brugge's Club NXT last season, playing 36 matches and scoring two goals. In the UEFA Youth League, he played 14 games for Club Brugge U19, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

According to Bart Tamsyn, a former scout for Club NXT, Bisiwu has shown significant talent, which is why Barcelona's interest in him is not surprising. "If a club like Barcelona is after you, you must have some talent," Tamsyn said. However, Tamsyn also noted that Bisiwu still needs to develop his teamwork and defensive skills, as he tends to focus on individual success.

Tamsyn described Bisiwu as a typical winger who relies on his technique and pace, particularly in the initial stages of a match. He is comfortable dribbling out wide and cutting inside, but needs to improve his defensive duties. Tamsyn compared Bisiwu to Belgian winger Doku, saying that while Doku is more explosive, Bisiwu could potentially become a more technically skilled player.

Bisiwu has also represented Belgium at various youth levels, including the U15, U16, U17, U18, and U19 teams. His move to Barcelona is expected to significantly increase his market value, which is currently around €800,000.
