Following the Mate 60, Huawei is Poised to Enter the Mid-Range 5G Market Later This Year

Chinese technology giant Huawei is reportedly gearing up to enter the mid-range 5G smartphone market with a new product, despite ongoing challenges posed by US sanctions.

According to a report in IT Times, Huawei is expected to unveil a 5G version of its mid-tier Nova smartphone within the next 1-2 months. The company has not officially confirmed this development.

This potential addition to Huawei's product lineup coincides with the upcoming launch event for the Mate 60 series scheduled for September 25. The high-end Mate 60 series has generated considerable interest among Chinese consumers since its surprise introduction on August 29.

As reported by Global Times, Huawei began accepting pre-orders for the Mate 60 series on August 29, allowing consumers to experience the latest and most powerful high-end Mate series to date. The Mate 60 Pro is said to feature the advanced 7nm Kirin 9000s chipset.

In a noteworthy move, Huawei has decided to fully embrace its self-developed Kirin processors in new smartphones starting in 2024. This strategic shift is expected to have a significant impact on chip manufacturer Qualcomm, according to prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
