Iran Reveals Shocking New Detail About Khamenei Strike, Trump Allegedly 'Offered Way Out' Says Expert

The United States and Israel have initiated Operation Epic Fury strikes, resulting in the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, as well as 40 high-ranking officials, in a significant development that is garnering widespread attention. According to reports from Fox News' Jennifer Griffin, the latest updates on the aftermath of this operation are being closely monitored and analyzed.

Newly released information from Iran's top diplomat regarding the strike that claimed the life of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei offers some of the most conclusive evidence to date regarding the precision and strategic planning that characterized the joint U.S.-Israeli operation, known as Operation Epic Fury, as noted by counterterrorism experts on Sunday, who are providing their assessments of the situation.

The account, which was disclosed by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during a recent television interview, also underscores a characteristic that analysts have identified as a key element of President Donald Trump's national security doctrine, namely the employment of a decapitation strike against a hostile regime while concurrently establishing an off-ramp to bring an end to the conflict.

In a television interview that was broadcast on June 4 on Al Mayadeen, a Lebanon-based television network that receives backing from Hezbollah, Abbas Araghchi provided further details, stating, "The building in which we were situated was actually targeted, but fortunately, the wing where we were located remained intact, whereas the other wing of the building suffered significant destruction."

Araghchi managed to survive the strike that took place on February 28 because, at the time of the attack, he was located in a different section of Khamenei's compound, and he subsequently provided information about how Khamenei was present in his office during the incident, as well as how other individuals were able to survive the attack.
Before-and-after satellite imagery provides a unique opportunity to observe the damage that occurred inside Iran.

Upon examining the initial portion of the information, counterterrorism expert Dr. Omar Mohammed shared his insights with Fox News Digital, stating that the details provided by Araghchi serve as confirmation that the operation was specifically aimed at targeting a particular section of the complex, rather than being intended to completely demolish the entire site.

According to Mohammed, in the Arabic version, Araghchi stated that he was located in a different section of the compound, where he was providing a briefing to another official, and fortunately, his section of the compound remained intact, while the leader's office suffered significant destruction.

Araghchi also shared with the interviewer that he had a scheduled meeting with an official at the compound on that particular day to discuss the Geneva negotiations, and based on the standard operating procedures, it was expected that Khamenei would be present in his office at the time.

Mohammed, who serves as the director of the Antisemitism Research Initiative at the Program on Extremism at George Washington University, further emphasized that if Araghchi's account is indeed accurate, this would constitute a striking acknowledgment by Iran of the strategic capabilities possessed by the United States.

The fact that they did not completely demolish an entire building, but instead targeted one wing while leaving the adjacent one intact, is a notable aspect of the situation, and according to Mohammed, this action reflects the core principles of President Trump's doctrine in a single, decisive strike - he does not aspire to engage in a war of occupation, but rather seeks to demonstrate that the United States possesses the capability to reach the center of a hostile regime with precision, and subsequently offer it a potential way out of the conflict.

DOZENS OF HIGH-RANKING IRANIAN REGIME OFFICIALS, INCLUDING THE SUPREME LEADER, HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE RECENT ISRAELI STRIKES, AS REPORTS CONTINUE TO EMERGE ABOUT THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE AND THE IDENTITIES OF THOSE AFFECTED.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had previously addressed the nation in a state television broadcast from Tehran, which took place on June 18, 2025, an event that was widely covered by various media outlets, including the release of images by the Office of the Supreme Leader of Iran/Getty Images.

The daylight strike that was carried out on the compound of elder Khamenei was conducted by Israeli jets, which specifically targeted the site with a total of 30 precision munitions, in addition to utilizing Sparrow air-launched ballistic missiles.

Military officials have confirmed that the strike sequence, which was extremely precise, resulted in the death of Khamenei, who was 86 years old at the time, as well as Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh, IRGC Commander Mohammed Pakpour, and numerous other top security leaders who were also present.

At the time, Trump verified the involvement of the United States in Khamenei's killing through a post that he shared on social media.
The president explained in the post that Khamenei was unable to evade the advanced intelligence gathering capabilities and highly sophisticated tracking systems that were in place, and by collaborating closely with Israel, it became impossible for Khamenei or the other high-ranking leaders who were killed alongside him to take any action to prevent their demise, as the president further elaborated in the statement, stating that there was not a single thing they could do to avoid being targeted.

Iran received the most unequivocal message that an adversary can possibly receive, as Mohammed pointed out, which was that we have the capability to reach your leader directly in his own office, and at the same time, we are presenting you with a clear off-ramp. A state that is guided by rational decision-making would typically take this opportunity to exit the conflict, however, Tehran chose to pursue a different course of action. Instead of de-escalating, Tehran responded by launching an attack on Israel, which resulted in the death of a civilian in Bahrain, and also struck several other countries, including Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, and furthermore, Tehran took the drastic step of closing the Strait of Hormuz, which in turn triggered a global energy crisis. It is worth noting that the initial surgical strike was carried out by American forces, whereas the prolonged and extensive war that ensued was a direct consequence of Iran's deliberate choice.

Following the transition of leadership, a significant development took place, as Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba Khamenei, assumed the position of Iran's new supreme leader, marking a notable change in the country's governance structure.

IRAN'S NEW SUPREME LEADER IS BEING DESCRIBED BY EXPERTS AS 'HIS FATHER ON STEROIDS,' WHICH HAS RAISED CONCERNS ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A HARDLINE RULE UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP.

He has been engaged in back-channel discussions with the United States, all while maintaining a confrontational public stance, since his involvement began.
Mohammed noted that in Arabic, Araghchi refers to the new leader as ‘the young Khamenei in place of the elderly Khamenei’, which is a terminology that is more commonly associated with a monarchy rather than a republic of clerics.
This terminology is significant, Mohammed observed, because it reflects a language that is typically used in monarchies, not in a republic of clerics.
They are essentially rewriting their theological framework on a public platform in order to accommodate a son who does not possess the necessary religious rank, and who was also wounded in the same strike, only to then disappear from public view for several weeks.
A revolution that originally came to power by putting an end to a monarchy is now effectively handing over the throne from father to son, which is a notable development, given the historical context of the revolution.

Mohammed further elaborated on the situation, stating that the actual story is not about Iran's perceived strength, but rather it was clearly demonstrated that Iran was shown the precision and effectiveness of American power, and despite having the opportunity, with the door being held open for a potential peaceful resolution, it instead chose to escalate and widen the conflict, opting for continued war.
