Manchester City Smash Transfer Record with £120 Million Plus Second Bid for Newcastle United Star Elliot Anderson

Manchester City have submitted a second proposal to Nottingham Forest for midfielder Elliot Anderson, valued at £106 million plus £15 million in bonuses. Anderson, 23, has three years remaining on his contract with Nottingham Forest, which he signed after joining from Newcastle United in 2023 for £35 million.

The England international has emerged as a leading midfielder in the Premier League, featuring in all 38 of Nottingham Forest's top-flight matches last season and scoring four goals. He made his senior England debut in September 2025 and is expected to play a crucial role for his country in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Nottingham Forest are seeking a fixed fee exceeding £110 million before bonuses, with Manchester City's latest bid falling short of their valuation. The club wants the fixed fee to surpass the current £125 million British record paid by Liverpool for Alexander Isak last summer.

Manchester City face competition from Manchester United for Anderson's signature, with the Red Devils also keen on signing the midfielder. The Etihad Stadium club is eager to fend off rival transfer interest and avoid a potential increase in Anderson's valuation depending on his performances in the World Cup.

In other news, Manchester City are in ongoing talks with Chelsea over a compensation package for former manager Enzo Maresca, who is being considered as a replacement for Pep Guardiola. The club is also exploring other positions, including right-back and winger, with Tottenham's pursuit of Savinho potentially affecting their plans.
