Morocco Secure Second Place in Group C After Overcoming Tough Challenge Against Haiti

Haiti has equaled an unwanted record of playing the most FIFA World Cup games with a 100% loss rate, after suffering a 4-2 defeat to Morocco in Atlanta.

The match began with Haiti taking the lead inside the opening 10 minutes, courtesy of Lenny Joseph's cheeky flick from Jean-Kévin Duverne's cross. Morocco responded, with Johny Placide making several crucial saves, including a superb double save to deny Achraf Hakimi and Sofyan Amrabat.

Morocco eventually equalized when Hakimi slid the ball home after Placide flapped at Bilal El Khannouss' cross. Haiti retook the lead with Wilson Isidor's emphatic long-range strike, but Morocco equalized just before halftime through Ismael Saibari's first-time conversion of Hakimi's cross.

In the second half, Morocco pushed for goals, with El Khannouss' curler being pushed away by Placide. Haiti's resilience was eventually broken when Soufiane Rahimi's deflected strike found the top corner. Morocco added a late goal in stoppage time, with Rahimi squaring for Gessime Yassine to tap home his first-ever senior international goal.

The result sees Haiti's tournament come to an end, while Morocco advances to the knockouts in second place in Group C, extending their unbeaten run to 32 matches in all competitions. Achraf Hakimi was a standout performer for Morocco, playing a key role in the team's victory.
