World Cup Preview, Predictions and Lineups: Bosnia & Herzegovina Takes On Switzerland

Switzerland and Bosnia & Herzegovina kicked off their 2026 World Cup campaigns with 1-1 draws against Qatar and Canada, respectively. The two teams will meet on Thursday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles, with both sides aware of the importance of securing three points to push for qualification from Group B.

Switzerland dominated its opener against Qatar but was punished for failing to take its chances, ultimately settling for a draw after a late own goal. To secure a victory against Bosnia & Herzegovina, Murat Yakin's side needs to rediscover its clinical edge.

Bosnia & Herzegovina held its own against Canada, thanks in part to the Canadians' wastefulness in front of goal. Sergej Barbarez's side will look to stay compact and difficult to break down, but Switzerland's attacking firepower, led by Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo, may prove too much.

Switzerland's predicted lineup is expected to feature a back three of Denis Zakaria, Manuel Akanji, and Nico Elvedi, with Gregor Kobel in goal. Noah Okafor may replace Dan Ndoye on the left wing, and Djibril Sow could join Granit Xhaka in midfield.

Bosnia & Herzegovina captain Sead Kolašinac is expected to recover from a late injury and start at left back. The team's predicted lineup features a 4-4-2 formation, with Vasilj in goal and a front two of Demirović and Lukić.

The match will be broadcast on various networks, including FOX, fuboTV, and Telemundo in the US, and ITV 1 UK and STV Scotland in the UK.
