Outshining Mbappé and Haaland with Impressive Stats, Christos Tzolis Reveals Why Arsenal Were So Desperate to Sign Him

Arsenal have completed the signing of Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis, with the English Premier League champions set to pay an initial €40 million fee plus bonuses for the 24-year-old. The move is seen as a key addition to bolster Mikel Arteta's attacking options, following the departure of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas for €20m.

Tzolis spent three seasons at Norwich City, making 14 Premier League appearances, before finding success at Club Brugge. His departure from the Belgian side has netted a club-record fee, surpassing the €37.5m paid by AC Milan for Charles De Ketelaere. Tzolis' market value currently stands at €40m.

The Greek international had a phenomenal season at Brugge, registering 50 goal contributions in 50 games, including 21 goals and 29 assists. His attacking output was superior to that of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé, with only Harry Kane and Michael Olise providing more contributions in the top ten leagues.

Tzolis' versatility is a key factor in his signing, as he can play on the left wing, right wing, and as an attacking midfielder. The move represents a major step up for Tzolis, from the Jupiler Pro League to the Premier League, but his talent and recent form make him an intriguing addition to Arsenal's squad.
