Tarik Muharemović Completes Move to Leeds United from Sassuolo in Record Transfer Deal

Tarik Muharemović, a dominant centre-back for US Sassuolo in the 2025/26 season and a regular starter for Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Cup, has joined Leeds United. The 23-year-old defender has signed a contract until June 2031, becoming the club's second-most expensive signing in a deal worth €40m.

Only Georginio Rutter, who joined from Hoffenheim for €40.5m, ranks ahead of Muharemović as Leeds' most expensive signing. Juventus, which sold Muharemović to Sassuolo for €2m in 2025, will receive 50% of the transfer fee, a significant boost to their transfer plans.

Muharemović has shown great consistency and technical ability as a modern defender, according to experts. He is physically robust, strong in aerial duels, and determined, with good ball control and the ability to read the game well. Leeds United will be hoping he can bring these skills to the Premier League and make a significant impact for the club.
