Many top European leagues offer opportunities to young players, with some surprising results. The Serbian Super Liga leads the way, with 25.6% of total game time played by under-21 players last season. Radnicki Nis central defender Dusan Pavlovic is a notable example, with his market value rising from €400k to €1.5m.

The Danish Superliga ranks second, with 23.2% of game time played by U21 players. Midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, who played for Nordsjaelland, saw his market value increase by 900% over the course of the season. The Belgian Jupiler Pro League, Swedish Allsvenskan, and Dutch Eredivisie follow closely, offering 22.1%, 21.9%, and 20.4% of game time to young players, respectively.

Among Europe's major leagues, French Ligue 1 stands out, offering 19.6% of game time to U21 players. The German Bundesliga provided 14.6%, while the Premier League offered 9.6%, ranking 20th. Serie A and LaLiga ranked lower, with 9.2% and 7.7% of game time played by young players, respectively. The Greek Super League 1 and Turkish Süper Lig offered the fewest opportunities, with 5.3% and 5.7% of game time played by U21 players.
